Parents Lead Program – FCC Foundation

Business Description / Hours:

The Parents Lead Program at Frederick Community College is an access, retention, and completion program for student-parents. It targets parents who may have thought that completing a college degree while working and raising a family was impossible.

The program provides financial support to assist with child rearing costs including child care, a carefully designed set of courses that are designed around the experiences and needs of working parents while teaching them the academic and advocacy skills needed for long term success, a supportive learning community, and regular and supportive advising.

As Frederick begins to recover from COVID-19, FCC will play a big role in helping unemployed parents get back to work. Help the FCC Foundation make the future brighter for parents and their families with your gift to Parents Lead. Thank you!

Business Description / Hours:

Platoon 22 has its mission: to end Veteran suicide through the successful reintegration of service members and their families. We will accomplish this by assembling critical resources, providing peer support, and developing transitional programs. These services allow us to meet the Veteran where they are today and provide the support to reach tomorrow.

Our team is constantly evaluating the community need to ensure to meet the needs of Veterans. Offerings include, but are not limited it, recreational outings, holidays meals, housing vouchers, and more.

As the Platoon Veteran Services Center opens its doors in 2021, we anticipate serving 3,000+ Veterans (and their families) in the first year. We are planning to use the funds raised through the Unity Campaign to include a computer lab within the center to assist with resume writing, home searches, etc., as well as, stocking the hygiene pantry to serve homeless Veterans. All funds will be used toward programming and offerings!
