Gambrill State Park, located west of Frederick, provides miles of hiking, mountain biking, and horse trails with stunning overlooks of the surrounding area. A 34-campsite, four-camper cabin campground is available seasonally. See beautiful views from three stone overlooks, picnic shelters for rent, and the historic Tearoom, an event facility available for reservations. Some facilities are handicapped accessible.

Gaslight Gallery is a spacious art gallery in Downtown Frederick that features solo exhibits with recognized contemporary artists from across the country, as well as international artists.

Gateway Candyland has been a regular pit-stop for local residents and tourists traveling along Route 15 for almost 40 years. Gateway Candyland continues to be a place where friends and family gather to enjoy the sweeter things in life.

In 1983, Sterling and Linda Bollinger built the market as a means to sell the produce grown on their orchard on Kelbaugh Road in Thurmont. Inspired by the family’s annual vacation, Sterling decided to sell candy as well.

The store transitioned to the Brad & Amber Seiss Family in 2018 and continues to carry the same old-time items it has for the last 39 years, along with their newest addition of homemade fudge.

Amber runs the day to day functions while Bradley helps with the long-term planning and remodeling of the stores.

We are a general store that carries candy, fudge, Hershey’s Ice Cream, and a large selection of candy making supplies. We are the corner store that still sells those little pieces of heaven.

Charcuterie for all Occasions
We are a fully licensed and insured boutique catering company located in downtown Frederick, Maryland that specializes in creating artfully arranged charcuterie boards, grazing tables and boxes. We cater to small last minute gatherings as well as to larger events.

A large stone monument dedicated to the memory of Civil War correspondents is the outstanding attraction of this day-use park. The Appalachian National Scenic Trail traverses the park and passes the monument base. Gathland State Park was once the mountain home of George Alfred Townsend, a Civil War journalist. In the late 1800s, Gathland featured a unique collection of buildings and structures designed and constructed by Townsend. Two of the structures, the main hall and lodge, were partially restored in the 1950s.
