OUR HISTORY: The Monterey Pass Battlefield Park is a natural, cultural & historical park located in Washington Township, Franklin County, Pennsylvania that commemorates Pennsylvania’s second largest Civil War battle. The Battle of Monterey Pass was fought along a rugged mountain ridge, in a blinding thunderstorm, during the middle of the night on July 4 & 5, 1863, just one day after the close of the battle of Gettysburg.
